Yealink MeetingBar A30 Accessories and Add-ons

Video Conferencing has come a long way over the past decade.  Today, you can literally get going without having to download anything (Google Hangouts, now Meets is a perfect example).  

And the expansion of features for these products has exploded also.  A great example of how Microsoft Teams has taken a "locationless" approach to project teams - both internal and external - by helping companies communicate regardless of location, through pages, chat, videos, and video conference calls. Also look at the explosion of Zoom since 2020 - now they are not just for video meetings, they now have integrated voice and chat in their core product (Zoom One), but now have a multitude of ways to communicate - meetings, webinars, online/virtual experiences, etc.

BUT, what hasn't changed with video conferencing is the hardware required.  You still need a camera, some kind of audio (speakers, headset, mics) and a computer to handle the demands of video conferencing.

Enter the "all-in-one" devices.  They have been around for a few years, but in the last year or so, they have going from "camera + audio" to also include the computer to power the video conferencing application.  These Appliances are suited for smaller conference rooms, home offices, executive offices or "video phone booths" - but they are maturing and getting more powerful.

A great example of this maturing is the Yealink Meeting A30.  It can be used in almost any size room (up to about 15 in-room meeting participants).  And for larger rooms, you have the ability to add tabletop microphones to extend the voice pickup range to cover the whole room. Also, there are add-on devices for BYOD (bring your ow device) to assist in both content sharing and when the primary video conferencing application is not the one being used.
