A Message from Video Conference Gear - Why we sell what we sell

“Ryan, why don’t you sell XYZ camera? I have seen it on other sites and it looks like a good camera, and good value for the money.”
This is a question we at Video Conference Gear get all the time. There is a reason why we don’t carry every brand of video conferencing camera / video conference system. In our business, it is called “Churn and Burn”.
“Churn and Burn” is when vendors sell untested, untried sounds-like-a-good-idea gear. They are banking on customers receiving the product and by the time they get frustrated with it, the gear is used and maybe past the return date. The price point may be such that there is a low percentage of customer returns. The vendor does not have much of an expense for product testing, and they can afford to have unhappy customers. By the time the buzz catches up with that product, the vendor has moved on to the next new thing.
VCG has a different approach. We stand behind what we sell to make sure you are happy with your purchase and you feel you are getting your money’s worth. How do we do that?
- We test our products .That sounds logical, but you would be amazed at how many vendors just troll for gear, throw it up on their web page, and hope they get some sales. We actually test our products. We test for usability, durability, and performance.
- We steer
our customers to the best gear for their needs.
Each piece of equipment we sell has a sweet
spot for performance/price. A camera
that works great for team meetings in one shop might not have the features
needed in another shop. There have been
numerous times we have talked customer out of even higher end products because
the products will not meet their needs. Tell us your requirements and we
will suggest the best approach.
- We follow through on customer satisfaction. We sell to the smallest of small businesses, and some of the largest universities in the world as well as Fortune 500 companies. The hardest thing to earn is a customer’s first purchase. The easiest thing to lose is a customer’s second purchase. We want to earn your first, second, and twentieth purchase.

Of course, but we can sleep at night knowing we maintain our integrity for our clients.
