Who's the best? Two great online sources for web based video conferencing software buying research
Posted by Ryan Pinke on 5/8/2017
There is something magical about the way our business world works today (as opposed to just a few years ago) and that is the explosion of quality web-based video conferencing applications and software. Today, there are dozens of platforms to choose from, for any size business. And these applications make it possible to meet with anyone in the world – as long as they have reliable internet access and either a phone or camera-equipped computer.
No longer do I need to travel, to meet and talk with someone face-to-face, and that simple fact has changed how businesses “meet” today. Whether you use it to conduct a sales demo or interview new employees – web-based video conferencing is a must have business tool today.
Based upon our experience with various platforms, we believe there are a few applications which standout in the market – Zoom, Skype for Business, BlueJeans, and GoToMeeting are some of the best available.
We thought it would be a good idea to provide you with a couple resources to help you evaluate these applications for yourself. We’ve used all the platforms mentioned, plus a few others (including Google Hangouts and the newest entrant, Amazon Chime), but the following will give you information based upon real user feedback to help you make a decision (or support your decision) on web video conferencing.
TrustRadius
TrustRadius is a review site for business technology, serving both buyers and vendors. They help buyers make product decisions based on unbiased reviews. Every reviewer on TrustRadius is authenticated (no zombie or fake reviews allowed) and vetted through their research team. These are real buyers, with real experience with the products or services – bringing a peer view to a buying process.
Here’s what TrustRadius for Video Conferencing applications looks like – and their top rated products.
To land on the map above, products must have 20 or more. Top Rated Web Conferencing Software include: Zoom, ON24, Lifesize Video Conferencing, Join.me, and Blackboard Collaborate. Other Web Conferencing Software on the TrustMap include: Skype for Business, WebEx Meetings, GoToMeeting, and Adobe Connect.
To view the full list, go to TrustRadius’ Web Conferencing Software page.
G2Crowd
Another great resource to use during your research is G2Crowd. Similar to TrustRadius, the provide reviews and ratings from real users on real products. They boast over 150K reviewers, and over a million “buyers” using their site. It is great example of crowdsourcing for product reviews. They also provide all that review data to create their own grid style reports on 100’s of different buyer guides.
On their buyer guide pages, you can quickly see where the products land, plus, you can see how well they are reviewed based upon company size – from small business to the enterprise businesses. It’s another great source of buying information.
As you can see, there are differences based upon company size and reviews. If you want to see the G2Crowd page for yourself and read through the reviews, go to this page.
